Community Education
Domestic abuse can be a difficult subject to talk about, but raising awareness is critical to changing existing attitudes and preventing domestic violence.
Through our community outreach and education program, Ruth’s House offers:
-
Information booths at community events.
-
Presentations to schools, civic groups, clubs, social service agencies, churches, businesses and professional groups that help increase awareness and understanding of domestic abuse
-
Preventive education with middle and high school students that helps youth recognize abuse and develop healthy relationships.
-
Educational workshops that cover topics such as workplace domestic violence, safety planning, domestic violence assessment, gender and domestic violence, and the effects of abuse on children.
If you would like for us to be at your next community event or to schedule a training or presentation, please email our Executive Director at susank@ruths-house.org.
